Moments Like Ice
for Global Game Jam '25: "Bubbles"
If only things could last.
Your childhood best friend is back from magic university for the week, and you've dearly missed her...there's some feelings you never admitted before she moved away... But you can use your magic to influence her thoughts during your chats about her time in the big city! Maybe coming home's what's best for her?
Your ice magic allows you to capture feelings that have bubbled up. Circle the bubbles with your wand, then either pop them to help your friend dismiss the topic, or freeze them to help your friend hold onto the subject.
As you influence her, you'll determine the ending of the story, and your friend will come to a decision about what to do. Will she finally understand your wish to love and protect her?
Hint: Draw a circle around the bubble repeatedly.

I love this! The story is simple but told in a really elegant way that characterizes the two girls so well in a short period of time. the character designs and ui are also soooo nice
A charming and atmospheric story! I really like the style -- the main characters' hair designs are great. The bubble theme shines through strongly and the way the music develops really adds to the game.
I will say I'm not really getting the magic angle -- I was expecting something like direct, supernatural influencing of Anemoni's emotions, but freezing or popping a bubble just seems to influence what Nettle says, and since you are Nettle, you could figure out what to say without magic. In fact, as far as I saw, even though there are witch hats in the first few images, and you pop the bubbles with a wand, magic never once comes up in the text of the story.
There's also some minor bugs, such as a TEST bubble being present if you ask about school, and the music starting to layer on top of itself if you play multiple times in a row -- though that's entirely understandable for a jam game!
Great work!
